Last night we had just a very tiny hint of fall weather.  It put me in the mood to use some fall colors.  Simon Says Challenge is to use three colors.  So I watercolored on watercolor paper with distress inks in orange, gold and brown.  The sentiment from CTMH and the pumpkins from MFT are gold embossed on watercolor paper. The pumpkins are also watercolored with distress inks.   Heidi Swapp gold Color Shine is splattered on the card along with a few more sequins.  The window die for the shaker portion of the card is from Simon Says Stamp.  Maybe some day soon we'll have more that a tiny hint of fall here in the desert.

It's Your Birthday!

My scientific girlfriend is having a birthday.  I wanted to give a feminine twist to a card that would normally be masculine.  Watercolor paper and watercolors are used in the background.  The periwinkle colored mat is from Bazzill.  Memento and Copics are used to color the mad scientist and his concoction.  Stickles, Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents add Bling and texture to the card.
The stamps are from Paper Smooches.  This is for the Anything Goes Sparks Challenge for Paper Smooches.

You're Amazing!

My stamp club donates cards to our local children's hospital.  I hope these cards bring a little joy into the heart of some little person who's not feeling so good.
The background is clouds die cut with Lawn Fawn cloud dies and colored by blending distress inks.
The Unicorn and sentiment are from Paper Smooches.  They are colored with Copic Markers.  I used Stickles and Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

Outer Space Birthday

I spent most of Sunday afternoon making this card.  Occasionally I'd just laugh out loud as each of these guys came to life with paper piecing and google eyes.  The list of products is extensive as I just got into puling all kinds of products off the shelves.  (Clean-up took most of the evening!)
The background came from ideas by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner.  I used water color paper, water color paints and salt!  Once it was dry I put white water color on my brush to splatter white into the sky.  The planet surface is silver paper embossed with a Cuddlebug folder then cut with a Spellbinders circle die.  The sentiment and die are from Stampin Up with silver embossing powder.
The hats are from Lawn Fawn.  And the monsters are from a Hero Arts stamp I've had for a long time.  Pattern paper for piecing is by Ki and Kaiser Kraft.  Google eyes, Wink of Stella and Stickles with a little white gel pen finished the card.  I entered this in the Simon Says Challenge,  Anything Goes featuring Hero Arts.

Lets Fiesta!

I'm new to blogging.  I found today that when I looked at my card (bottom) through the camera lens, it didn't look as good as I thought.  It needed more texture.  So I made the card on the top which included two different ribbons for texture.  It's a subtle difference but I liked it better.  Pattern Paper is by Crate Paper.  Cardstock is by Stampin Up.  All stamps are from Paper Smooches.  Hero Arts and Versamark inks are used as well as silver embossing powder.  The card design is provided by Paper Smooches Spark Challenge.

First Day of Kindergarten

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is about back to school.  I made this card to fit in the 4x6 pocket of a scrapbook.  The children stamp is by Mama Elephant.  Coloring is with Copic markers from a fabulous tutorial by Sandy Allnock called "Human Rainbow".  The picture frame die is by Lawn Fawn as are the school lined border, alphabet letters and apples.  Bakers twine and glossy accents add dimension and shine to the card.

Surrf's Up

We just returned from a trip to San Diego.  I'm still California dreamin!
Simon Says Monday Challenge is titled "Citrus with a Twist" so I started with a base of Tangerine Tango cardstock from Stampin Up.  The Avery Elle clouds and sentiment are white embossed on XPress cardstock.  Distress Inks are blended to form the sky and sand.   I used Memento ink and Copic markers to stamp and color the Avery Elle VW Bus and palm trees.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.  Glossy Accents gives shine to the windows.  Silver Wink of Stella gives the bumper and hub caps a little sparkle.

It's not the years. It's the miles!

Heat embossing with silver embossing powder is what drew me into stamping many years ago.  I am still intrigued watching the powder turn into a metallic shine!  The background and clouds are water colored with distress ink on water color paper.  The plane and people are colored with Copic markers on XPress paper.  The banner is embossed on vellum.  The plane and banner stamp is by Art Impressions.  The clouds are stamps and dies by Lawn Fawn.  I entered this card in an Art Impressions Anything Goes Challenge.

Love You to My Core

This is for Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  An inspiration photo is provided.
The patterned paper is from my stash.  Cardstock is from Stampin Up.  I used Momento ink to stamp and Copic markers to color.  Glossy Accents, Stickles, Wink of Stella and pop dots complete the card.
This made me hungry for a nice crunchy apple and some cool fall weather.

Proud Nana

I am blessed to have a granddaughter who loves to craft!  She selected the background stripe and placed the Paper Smooches elements she colored on this card for her brother.  She mastered the Xyron X sticker maker, Wink of Stella and Stickles.  I'm biased but I think she is an exceptional five year old in so many ways.

Holly Embossing Folder

Kristina Werner did an Embossing Folder technique with selective Inking on Day 5 of Online Card Class Background Check.  I used a Provo Craft Cuttlebug embossing folder, Distress Inks, and a sentiment stamp from Lawn Fawn which is gold heat embossed.  Gold sequins, twine and Heidi Swapp Color Shine added more metallic accents.  Berries were finished with Stickles.

Life is a Circus

I have neglected my household chores this week because I have been totally distracted with Online Card Class Background Check!  This is another card using a Cover Plate, Jumbo Dot Cover Up by My Favorite Things.  (I won it in a challenge!)  The clown stamp and sentiment are by Paper Smooches.  Balloon Die is by Lawn Fawn.  Other supplies included Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents, Google Eyes, Stickles and Copic Markers and SU Cardstock.
Inspired by Laura Bassen, this card was fun to put together.  It was time-consuming.  Not for mass production.

Wishing You Sunshine and Rainbows

Cover Plates have been a challenge for me. In Day 4 of Online Card Class Background Check Laura Bassen showed how versatile Cover Plates are.  I caught her rainbow fixation and created this card.
The Cover Plate is by Papertrey Ink, Die Cut sentiment by Simon Says, stamped sentiment and cloud die by Paper Smooches.  Background is colored with distress inks.  The cloud is covered with Wink of Stella.

Thankful for You

Yet another background from Online Card Class Background Check made into a card.
I just wrapped it in raffia, added a charm and sentiment.

Angels watching over you

Day 4 Online Card Class Background Check Kristina Werner made this background of die cut clouds inked with Distress Inks.  I used Lawn Fawn dies.  New tiny angel dies by i.o. belong on these clouds!  I die cut them from SU silver glimmer paper.  The sentiment is typed on vellum.

You are My Sunshine

Day 6 Online Card Class Background Check was a Design Break where we were to make cards from the backgrounds we created earlier in the week. This background was created with a Tim Holtz stencil, a baby wipe and distress ink.  I punched the circles with a Stampin Up 2 1/2"  circle punch after blending distress ink on SU cardstock.  The sentiment from Lawn Fawn was stamped with VersaFine.  The top sun is popped with dots.  Wink of Stella gives some sparkle to the sun and lighter rays.
