I wanted to play with Copic color combinations I don't normally use. And did I ever get color!
I stamped the MFT Polar Bears in Memento, colored them with Copics and cut them out.
I sandwiched them between two pieces of acetate so the shaker pieces would move freely around and behind them. The background balloon strings were created with a MFT background stamp stamped in VersaFine and clear heat embossed. Balloon dies from a variety of companies were cut, colored with Copics and then covered with Glossy Accents. I adhered them to the background. Floating in the shaker window are beads and sequins and pieces punched from a Stampin Up punch.

I had several goals for my studio this past year. I've accomplished a lot but still have a long way to go.
1) The lighting in my room was really bad. When a water leak occurred on the ceiling it was a prime opportunity to accomplish my goal! Eight pot lights were installed in my ceiling. They are on two separate switches which both have dimmers. They have changed my life!
I also added a Stella light to my desk. It is truly magnificent.
2) I wanted to personalize my studio by putting objects all around which represent me and make me happy. Photos of my grandchildren, family and dog (and husband) are my prize possessions. Coffee signs, flags from the countries I've visited, a tea pot that was my mom's, art I've created and other objects the represent good times or special people in my life. I enjoy my room so much more now.
3) Remove rubber from wood and organize my stamps Jennifer style. I have a long way to go but the process is well underway. I found the drawers where I had stored the wood-mounted stamps easily converted to the new system. What a HUGE difference it makes in finding and putting away my stamps.
My pride and joy is the storage I created for my Copic Markers. I've had this now for several years and just love it. It's my own original DIY made from Dollar Tree plastic containers and clear packaging tape. I can find the marker I need and put it away easily now that I'm very familiar with my system.
Next year my goal is to continue purging. If I'm not using it, it goes to a church in Mexico.
I'm not scrapbooking as much on in the same way that I used to. I need to get those photos and pages into some kind of order.
It is a never-ending process.

My granddaughter is missing two front teeth just in time for Christmas.
There's only one missing in this photo. Her 2 1/2 year old brother hit her in the face with a ball and knocked the second tooth out! SHE WAS VERY HAPPY THAT HE HELPED HER OUT!
The Santa stamp is from Stampin Up and stamped with Memento ink on Neenah paper then colored with Copics and cut out.
The Word Bubble die is from Stampin up. The sentiment is from my computer.
The Circle Die is from DieNamics
Wishes die is from impression obsession.
This tag was inspired by Kristina Werner. Everything but the sentiment is from Art Impressions.
The image was stamped in Memento and colored in Copics. Santa has an Action Wobble behind him which makes the rocker actually rock! The sentiment is an ancient stamp from my stash.

I haven't gotten out my Color Burst for a couple weeks! They worked perfectly on this card very much inspired by Debbie Hughes. The snowflake stamps are from Stampin Up. They are white heat embossed on watercolor paper. Color Burst are sprinkled on a Craft Mat and sprayed with water.
The watercolor paper is then "smooshed" into the mixture on the Craft Mat.
I used sequins and Shimmer to give it some sparkle.

This Stamping Bella girl in a poinsettia dress was so so fun to color! She was stamped in Momento and colored with Copics. The sentiment, from the same Stamping Bella set, was gold heat embossed and die cut with a DieNamics stitched circle. Scallop circle die is from spellbinders, doily from the Dollar Tree.

Stickles and Wink of Stella add some bling.
The Catalina Mountains right outside our back door turn the most beautiful shades of pink and purple at sunset. Raise your glass to a southwest toast, "When the mountains turn pink, it's time to drink!"
This is my new favorite tag for 2016. The sky and mountains are colored with Distress Ink. WOW White Puff embossing powder makes the snow peaks and Yeti footprints. The Yeti stamps and mountain die are from MFT. The Margarita glasses are from A Muse Stamps. The sentiment is printed on my computer and die cut with a Lawn Fawn speech bubble.

Lawnscaping Challenge: Snow
Very faintly you might see snowflakes stenciled with a Picket Fence Distress Crayon. I smushed the water color paper into Distress Ink that had been spritzed with water.
Snow sentiment from Penny Black and Snowflakes from various companies including Lawn Fawn were die cut from SU white glitter paper. The Lawn Fawn fairies were stamped in Momento and colored with Copics. Stickles add glitter to their wings.

I'm in a gift exchange where we select a wrapped gift from under the tree. My gift has a Starbucks gift card and coffee mug. I wanted to put some hint on the package that it is for a coffee drinker.
I used this Hero Arts coffee cup stamp with Lawn Fawn sentiment, snowflakes and fox. The gold glitter paper frame is cut from Lawn Fawn's stitched rectangle die.
Monday, December 5, 2016
I stamped Lawn Fawn snow all over the brown paper bag with VersaMark then white heat embossed it. There Snow one like you is also white heat embossed along with the snowflakes all from Lawn Fawn. Snow hill is a die from Lawn Fawn as are the penguin and igloo.
I found this to be a very challenging color challenge. I don't think I've ever used both green and teal in the same card front or tag.
Stamps are from Lawn Fawn. The oval die is from MFT and the holy leaves are from Memory Box.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Trio-Tastic
Tag # 3 of the Trio-Tastic Challenge. Santa's Bag by Waffle Flower embossed with initials.
Background, Boots and Hat from Hero Arts. Darling little mice from Mama Elephant.
Sometimes when I color these little critters I get attached to them and begin to imagine a story . . .
here Santa has come home from a long night flying around the world. The mice have one last snack for him before he goes to bed. He hasn't forgotten them. There is lots of cheese left in his bag for them.

I heat embossed Santa's initials on the bag. The elves and accessories are from a fabulous set from MFT.
The background stamp is from Hero Arts. The hills are die cuts from Lawn Fawn.
30 Day Coloring Challenge
One of the very first "rules I learned scrapbooking then card-making was to use elements in uneven numbers. Simon Says' challenge is using elements in threes. On this card there are lots of threes . . .
3 sets of three packages and 3 buttons on Santa. Except for the blue background I also used three colors . . . gold red and green.
Presents and Tree from MFT
Santa from Avery Elle
Bag from Waffle Flower
Background from Hero Arts
Hills die cut with Lawn Fawn

When Lawn Fawn released this stamp and die set I could think of many baker friends and family who would love getting a tag or card with it. I am having so much fun using this set with different colors and pattern papers. This one is for my granddaughter. There are so many elements. I especially like the oven door that opens (I used acetate on the window), the 3D handle and the towel with it's cross stitch design.
This gingerbread paper by Heidi Grace has been in my stash for a long time.
Later I'll post the oven tag I made for Hanukkah.

My friend Jan and I are proud to be keeping to our plan of making the sample tags from Tim Holtz' Chemistry 103 Online Card Class. The second from the left is my favorite technique so far . . . embossing powder on Opaque Texture Paste.
This combines Lawn Fawn and MFT Yeti stamps. Except for a different sentiment and a little color difference this is a CASE from Nichol Spohr. Mountain and hill dies are from Lawn Fawn. The Yeti is on a slider hidden behind the mountains.
I will be doing more Yetis this holiday season!

30 Day Coloring Challenge
Oh, My!!! Card making has taught me so much but never did I imagine I would learn about electric circuits! This is the second card I've made using Chibi Lights. They may not show up well in the photo but the two lanterns and the windows actually light up with you press down on the gifts.
Cristina Yainea Nunez posted a card like this using the Chibi lights and I really studied her video to figure out how to make the circuit. When I try the next card using Chibi lights I'll try using vellum in front of the lights.
All stamps and dies are from Lawn Fawn. Stickles give the card some glitz.

I am addicted to coffee. My collection of coffee-related stamps continues to grow. This card (inspired by Stephanie Klauck) utilizes stamps from lots of different companies including Stampin Up, Altenew, MFT and G Rated. I used the new brown color from Color Burst in the background.
I have loved Magenta Stamps for decades. Their stamps are so artsy and have a unique style I can identify quickly. They were at the Rubber Stamp Event in Mesa this past week-end. I had a delightful conversation with the owner, a lovely lady with a beautiful French-Canadian accent.
The card in their display using this ornament stamp really caught my attention.
Here I tried to recreate their card using Versa Fine ink and Color Burst.
I am fascinated with this technique of painting over a background which both use Color Burst!
This was my first attempt. There will be many more!

Paper is from Reminisce.
I'm not sure what the critter is second from the right. Any ideas?

I saw a beautiful fall Happy Birthday card on Pinterest by cardsbymollycat. I used her idea but different mediums to create this card. The TWC stencil is embossed with Facetted Lack Crackling Gold Colour. Thinking of You by Hero Arts is heat embossed in SU copper as are the tiny dots.
I used a variety of Color Bursts (Including Liquid Metals) on heavy weight Nina then die cut them with Lawn Fawn and Sizzix leaves. They are popped with glue dots and foam squares.

This summer I purchased and watched Online Card Class Chemistry 103 taught by Tim Holtz.
However I didn't complete the class assignments.
My friend, Jan, and I agreed to meet once a week this fall and complete the assignments as Tim would want us to. So far we've completed class one and two. I think Tim would approve or at least say his classic "I don't hate it!"

Did I need another leaf stamp? Absolutely not! After I saw a post from Debbie Hughes did I want this Concord and 9th leaf stamp? Absolutely yes! It is stunning.
I have a friend beginning treatment for breast cancer. When I'm thinking about her it is therapeutic for me to make a card. I put all of my hopes for her into each step of the card-making process.
The embossing Glitter is called Midas Touch from WOW! I had not seen it until Debbie Hughes used it on a card. It truly is WOW!
The background is watercolor paper with splashes of pink watercolor. The "prayers" sentiment from Simon Says Stamp is white heat embossed to resist the water color.
Memory Box makes the beautiful delicate dies cut from SU glitter paper.
I really played with this design using different die cuts, paint colors and elements. When it finally fell together I was thrilled with the results . . . frosty and feminine.
