My father-in-law owned a drive-in restaurant. My husband made milk shakes at the restaurant.
Perfect! Inspired by a post from Nina Marie and Lesson #3 at Altenew by Nicole Magouirk.
Background is white heat embossed with the retro stars from the set. It's then blended with Distress inks. The signs are painted with Wink of Stella then glossy accents.
I went to the internet to get ideas for retro colors. A photo of an old motel sign was my inspiration.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Flowers
littlecraftypill.com posted a card with flowers floating out of a little envelope. What a great idea!
I had to try it. Using XPress paper I stamped Plus 9 flowers with Altenew inks and fussy cut them out. I used an Anna Griffin embossing folder to emboss both the background and the little vellum envelope I made with my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. I placed the flowers using a combination of Multi Medium Matt, Glue Dots and Pop Dots. Then I got into my stash and let loose with the bling. Wink of Stella gave a nice subtle shimmer to the flowers and leaves.
I am going to try this again using brighter colored flowers and plain vellum that may stand out better on the embossed background.

Kelly Latevola posted a card with this WPlus9 flower and this Distress Ink Lifting technique.
I love the ombre background and the monochromatic colors especially for a sympathy card. It's done on water color paper.
I used Distress inks, white heat embossing, some silver water color sprinkles and sequins and die cut sentiment from Cheery Lynn.
This was the card I taught at our stamp club. The technique, Distress Ink Lifting, is straight from Jennifer McGuire. The gorgeous stamp is from Ellen Hutson. I used Tim Holts Distress Inks and die cut "celebrate". The flower is heat embossed in white. A Swiss Dot embossing folder was used tomato the background. Stickles and Wink of Stella give it some bling.

A special guy in our family is turning 30. He's in the Coast Guard. This is his birthday card.
The background is Stampn Up cardstock with Simon Says Wave Stencil and Golden Glass Bead Gel mixed with Distress Ink Reinker.
I used my Minc to make the Tim Holtz world die cut shiny gold.
Go See Do is a stamp from Stampin Up.
The wood Adventure is from Heidi Swapp. I distressed it a little with Distress Ink.
The sail boat charm was in my stash.
