Chemistry 103

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge  Anything Goes
This summer I purchased and watched Online Card Class Chemistry 103 taught by Tim Holtz.
However I didn't complete the class assignments.
My friend, Jan, and I agreed to meet once a week this fall and complete the assignments as Tim would want us to.   So far we've completed class one and two.   I think Tim would approve or at least say his classic "I don't hate it!"

The snowflake die and stamp are from Hero Arts.  The cute little elves are from stamping Bella.
The coffee cup is by Stampin Up.  Sentiments are from Stamplorations.   A Starbucks gift card will be put in one of the pockets.

Frosty, Feminine Pink Prayers

                                               Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Did I need another leaf stamp?  Absolutely not!  After I saw a post from Debbie Hughes did I want this Concord and 9th leaf stamp?  Absolutely yes!  It is stunning.

I have a friend beginning treatment for breast cancer.  When I'm thinking about her it is therapeutic for me to make a card.  I put all of my hopes for her into each step of the card-making process.

The embossing Glitter is called Midas Touch from WOW!   I had not seen it until Debbie Hughes used it on a card.  It truly is WOW!

The background is watercolor paper with splashes of pink watercolor.  The "prayers" sentiment from Simon Says Stamp is white heat embossed to resist the water color.

Memory Box makes the beautiful delicate dies cut from SU glitter paper.

I really played with this design using different die cuts, paint colors and elements.  When it finally fell together I was thrilled with the results . . .  frosty and feminine.

Think Pink

                                              Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
It's October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  I am a survivor.  Every year I take this month to be grateful for my medical care and successful outcome.  This year I also remember Renee, mother of two, who fought a ten year battle but died this year.  I think of Patty who has such a positive attitude in spite of every possible side effect.  I think of Marcia, a survivor who was out walking for the cause and knits knockers for breast cancer patients.  And I think of Carolyn, recently diagnosed and about to start her treatment.  Brave ladies all in my thoughts and prayers.

This week's card challenge was to feature pink.  I water colored the pink background.  The snow lady is from Penny Black.  The sentiment is from MFT.  The little bird is from Lawn Fawn.  And the die, my new favorite, is from Simon Says Stamp.

Fall Shaker

Online Card Class Wild Card Day 4
Vicky Papaioannou posted this card for the Stamptember at Simon Says Stamp.  I changed the background color and die cut the Simon Says Stamp sentiment in SU Copper.  The woodgrain cardstock has been inked with three different Distress inks.

be merry shaker

Online Card Class Wild Card Day 4
This season it's all the cute little mice that I'm loving!  This set from Clearly Besotted is just precious!
Sandy Allnock inspired this card.  I used the Memory Box Stitched Snowflake Circle Frame for my window.  The elements are all stamped in Memento and colored with Copics.  The sentiment from Lawn Fawn is die cut from SU glitter paper.

I'm going to keep this on my desk for a while just because it makes me smile!

Santa and Reindeer Pop Up Card

Online Card Class Wild Card Day One
This pop-up box is larger than the one Kristina made on Day One.  The Kraft heavy-duty yardstick is from WorldWin.  The brick pattern paper is from Kaiser. Images from Avery Elle are stamped in Momento and colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and die cut with a die from Spellbinders.  Stickles and Wink of Stella bring some bling.

I love this stamp set from Avery Elle!  The Santa and deer are going on a lot of my projects!

Lighted Rudolph

Online Cardclass Wild Card Day 5

I have had a Chibi Lights started kit since early summer.  It wasn't until Kristina Werner's video
Day 5 that I got brave enough to try it.
The tag design comes directly from a card made by www.clip-n-cuts.com
This tag was first colored with distress inks.  The two houses and Rudolph from Avery Elle were stamped in Memento and colored with Copics.
There is going to be a small X where the button is that turns on the light.

This was a new adventure for me.  I will do more Chibi Lights for sure!

Do Over

I decided this card needed more . . . Lawn Fawn critters and Simon Says bag of leaves.

Fall Birthday

Online Card Class Wild Card Day 4 Shakers
I always envied my sister's birthday as it came either on or near my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving!
A fall birthday card was needed for her.
The beautiful leaves pattern paper is from Reminisce.  The circle Happy Birthday die is from Memory Box.  The little bear raking leaves is from Simon Says Stamp.

Halloween Anniversary

Online Card Class Wild Card Day 3  Pop Up Cards
I used products from lots of different companies for this card.  The pop-up rectangles hidden behind the two people are from Lawn Fawn.  The background paper is my prized old Basic
Grey.  Stamps and dies for the people are from MFT.  The haunted house is from Tim Holtz.

We have friends who were married on Halloween.  I LOVE to make their anniversary card every year!

Hello Fall

Online Card Class Wild Card Day 2
Kelly Marie Alvarez has a video using the Lawn Fawn Slider with two cute deer kissing.
I used the slider with a variety of fall critters from Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn raking and playing in the leaves.  The slider is a bag of leaves sliding down, turning upside down and dumping the leaves.  Die trees from Lawn Fawn.  Sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Christ mouse Box Card

Online Card Class Wild Card Day One
Kristina Werner gives directions for this small box card in her lesson on Day One.  I used WorldWin Kraft heavy duty cardstock and Making Memories pattern paper on my box.  The cute little mice, cheese tree and stockings are all from Lawn Fawn.  They are stamped with Memento and colored with Copics.  Stickles give some Christmas bling.
If I say so myself, this is REALLY cute!!!

Bye Bye Wood Blocks Phase I

Just a quick update on my progress removing the rubber stamps from wood blocks.  I have completed my sentiment stamps as well as leaves, trees, fall,  Halloween and Thanksgiving.
This one drawer holds all of the stamps that were in dozens of boxes and drawers!
It is going to be so much easier to find what I want with this new system.
I did switch to the Avery Elle clear pockets.  They are not as thick as those made by Ellen Hutson but they are considerably less expensive and still of very nice quality.

In a week or two I will get out my Christmas stamps and start Phase II.  Stay tuned.

Bear hugs

Online Card Class Wild Card Day One
                                                                      Gatefold Cards
The hugs die from Concord and 9th helps to make a gatefold card so easy!  The hugs sentiment locks and keeps the card closed until the recipient unlocks it.
The little bare bear is a co-ordinating stamp that has lots of sentiments that go well with the hugs die.
The pattern paper I used is from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Want to see the inside?  XO die is from Simon Says Stamp.

My 2 1/2 year old grandson its the best hugger in the entire universe!  This is a thank you to him for all of the joy he brings me with those sweet hugs.

Haunted House

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Anything Goes
Samantha Casey posted a card that I just HAD to recreate!  I used vintage Basic Gray pattern paper I wish I had bought more of.  Lawn Fawn elements are stamped with Memento and Colored with Copics.  The Boo die is from Frantic Stamper.  A little Wink of Stella makes the ghosts seem translucent.
This was so much fun!  It combines scene building, Lawn Fawn stamps and Halloween . . .  there of my most favorite things!

Thanks a Bushel

My friend, Lonnie, sent me a link to this cute card fold.  I thought it was so clever AND I've been anxious to color the apples from Lawn Fawn.  I found some apple pattern paper in my stash and added the hedge hogs from Newton's Nook.  Images are stamped with Memento and colored with Copics.  The square card folds flat for mailing.

Super Boy Birthday

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes
I needed a birthday card for a special boy who is about to turn 7.  I've seen a number of blogs where stamping artists have created a comic book type layout.  It seemed a perfect format for a 7 year old boy!  I used stamps from Clearly Besotted and a die from Pretty  Pink Posh.  The sentiment and die  from SU is white heat embossed.  Background is colored with Distress Ink.  Images are stamped with Memento and colored with Copics.  Some Stickles, Wink of Stella, Spica and gell pens were all used to add a little sparkle.  The frame piece and some elements are popped up with double-stick dimensional tape.
