The word "geometry" brings fear to my heart. I spent after school hours with a demanding geometry tutor hired by my mother. He was a senior who thought only of mathematics. I don't think he enjoyed those sessions any more than I did.</p><p>I do remember parallel and perpendicular from those tutoring sessions. So my geometric element is parallel and perpendicular lines.</p><p>In this one tag I incorporated many of my favorite things:</p><p><u>TAGS</u> I have been enthralled with tags for a very long time. They are my favorite paper craft to make, especially for the holidays. It has become a tradition that my family members expect to get a very special tag as their present from me each Christmas.</p><p>I have a tag tree in my studio decorated with tags I've made over the years. Some family members have also created tag trees with my tag gifts to them.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinRHNSBG5X5T0ZkeU8egLdkmOtUISPtScal9MshCApiKRhwxn-ABSCcxesnXQNlngTIMLMM_lMwetDzRHXzk3nhf52i3Qa5zRKRz5tC_w_NKKP9TPl4ae29bvFhXdPjw1Vjqp4DL1_dAG3/s2048/A97CD852-6631-4700-9041-D08203420BB9.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinRHNSBG5X5T0ZkeU8egLdkmOtUISPtScal9MshCApiKRhwxn-ABSCcxesnXQNlngTIMLMM_lMwetDzRHXzk3nhf52i3Qa5zRKRz5tC_w_NKKP9TPl4ae29bvFhXdPjw1Vjqp4DL1_dAG3/s320/A97CD852-6631-4700-9041-D08203420BB9.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWwnlIB8XQlkZmgcYPj4mASKVoIiiE6qEnYo6HmuY3Uai_jowPQ-w45YGWnEgmHse2cRArVuOywtsT8IGvwzDXGTD5XwfvQXLtq7u5xmB-6Gc9iF5s6cACYoFErYrw3jAwm_lDSQTHpMRn/s2048/B404E298-60AB-4095-851E-7D4E215A163D_1_201_a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWwnlIB8XQlkZmgcYPj4mASKVoIiiE6qEnYo6HmuY3Uai_jowPQ-w45YGWnEgmHse2cRArVuOywtsT8IGvwzDXGTD5XwfvQXLtq7u5xmB-6Gc9iF5s6cACYoFErYrw3jAwm_lDSQTHpMRn/s320/B404E298-60AB-4095-851E-7D4E215A163D_1_201_a.jpeg" /></a></div>Other favorite things include:<br /><p><u>GOLD</u> Gold has always been my favorite metal. About five years ago I took a class from Sandy Allnock called Go for the Gold. She taught how to use a vast number of gold products. That's when I became obsessed. If you look at the posts on my blog you can see that I believe no card is complete without a little gold.</p><p>Gold Altnew products used in this tag include Antique Gold embossing powder, sequins, thread and Washi.</p><p><u>BLACK</u> Some believe black is not appropriate for holiday cards. I hope this changes their minds. Black makes other colors, especially white, just pop off the card. </p><p>I have used Altenew's Jet Black cardstock for this tag.</p><p><u>WHITE</u> A project can look totally finished. Adding white at the end just brings the images to life. I have used white gel pen and Altenew's Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder on my tag.</p><p><u>MASKING</u> Call me crazy but I love to mask. When it's all colored and I pull the mask away, the reveal just delights me every time. Masking creates depth. While designing this tag I found I could emboss over Washi. ( It did have to be embossed twice. ) The images are both in front of and behind the Washi creating the illusion of more depth.</p><p><u>WATER COLOR</u> Altenew's Metallic Water Colors are amazing and amazingly easy to use. The shine creates it's own highlights. On this tag I used just one color of red and one color of green. Look at what that metallic paint creates all by itself or with just a second coat!</p><p><u>ALTENEW STAMPS </u> The artistry in Altenew's images make me look like a pro. This began with a piece of stationary that caught my eye on Pinterest. I looked through Altenew's catalog and found stamp sets with images that would contrast yet create a balanced images. The size of the rose cluster in <b>Paint-A-Flower Rose </b>was perfect and would make a great focal image. The tiny Baby's Breath stamps in<b> Bold Bunch</b> would provide a dainty element that would look great in white. One of the leaf clusters in<b> Vase Fillers</b> would bring in the solid image I wanted.</p><p>When new stamp sets arrive I stamp and die cut every image. I move them around and take pictures of different arrangements. That's how I get familiar with each set. Then I stamp drafts of cards with different combinations. Finally I take what I like from each draft and combine it into a finished card.</p><p>The sentiment in a beautiful font is from Warm Blessings.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM_XR59G-WLghFaiDm5ACpGAR1dwI_qKTW_1gvTqdqOeXpV3kh9BRYdw6Kv3uOKv5qs3Q-k7qc3bsomIHINnunpiJiNDlJieisbmdCPug4vWMRw8o-hL656aPqekMZ0GnuWXueBfvkOmzU/s2048/E0501315-6FE8-4F60-B744-16C7150B2EED.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1463" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM_XR59G-WLghFaiDm5ACpGAR1dwI_qKTW_1gvTqdqOeXpV3kh9BRYdw6Kv3uOKv5qs3Q-k7qc3bsomIHINnunpiJiNDlJieisbmdCPug4vWMRw8o-hL656aPqekMZ0GnuWXueBfvkOmzU/s320/E0501315-6FE8-4F60-B744-16C7150B2EED.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>Slimline cards are wildly popular. They cause me to look at my stamps in a different way. Making this was easy after designing the tag which is the same shape. I just switched it to landscape and changed some of the elements. This card is 3 1/2" x 8 1/2"</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis3xdQ8PVmlpRD0PuD6zy8R7VSxpzmBGtGkfslXGAKCk-1RkEqAUiHtBBTUZwJdSQhceGtCPzUDM5gM0bm3Zoz4F9F-qoSMCsjVWch3B4o7mbZADGnNstiOUv_YLpxTFGmPd3c536lYrS6/s2048/A5235F7C-2C87-41D1-958A-F5FF33B6792B.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1463" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis3xdQ8PVmlpRD0PuD6zy8R7VSxpzmBGtGkfslXGAKCk-1RkEqAUiHtBBTUZwJdSQhceGtCPzUDM5gM0bm3Zoz4F9F-qoSMCsjVWch3B4o7mbZADGnNstiOUv_YLpxTFGmPd3c536lYrS6/s320/A5235F7C-2C87-41D1-958A-F5FF33B6792B.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>Large cards like this 5 x 7 are ideal for holiday greetings. A beautiful image plus a lot of white space is dramatic, especially on black. Even more elegance can be achieved by putting gold paper inside the envelope flap.</p><p>Being asked to participate in the Educators Blog Hop was like getting an early Christmas present.</p><p>Now that it's done, I have two cards and a tag to cross off my To Do list!</p><p><br /></p><p> <span style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 11pt; font-weight: 700; white-space: pre-wrap;">Prizes:</span></p><span id="docs-internal-guid-b334571c-7fff-5d27-5ea6-62e847f671ff"><p dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; line-height: 1.7999999999999998; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; padding: 6pt 0pt 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 11pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-position: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 1 lucky winner! It was the match sticks for drum sticks that really caught my attention.<p></p><p>Debbie's post of a similar drum really got my ideas flowing. The drum base (paper mâché box) is an Amazon purchase. The Tiny House, Tree, Deer and pattern paper are all from Tim Holtz.</p><p>I had to learn from my mistake that there must be an uneven number of holes for the baker's twine.</p><p>Snow is created from Grit Paste. The deer is colored with Alcohol ink. The tree is colored with Distress Stain as Tim demonstrated on a Saturday Facebook Live.</p><p>It's hard to see in the photo but the window glass is a laminating pocket filled with mica flakes.</p><p>Two more common up!</p>pamboehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06315962710737491883noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537593315993617210.post-17189371676255283572020-11-11T07:51:00.000-08:002020-11-11T07:51:04.709-08:00Tim Holtz Arthur Turkey Place Card<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLYL6SC8ZVvdgvvJML2PXxWCpz-Q-KyFTqyWsz46ASRhw0So3vyNy0Qdndc923ONdpbZVWYzWzB15NdflAn1aCRcHN4MDp0krFT-1Sz6LqG_6c22sCwgZtsv0aVYY5dR1GkB47B4-dETX8/s2048/B7C34266-CAAE-4ED2-952C-7FF8B3A887AD.heic" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLYL6SC8ZVvdgvvJML2PXxWCpz-Q-KyFTqyWsz46ASRhw0So3vyNy0Qdndc923ONdpbZVWYzWzB15NdflAn1aCRcHN4MDp0krFT-1Sz6LqG_6c22sCwgZtsv0aVYY5dR1GkB47B4-dETX8/s320/B7C34266-CAAE-4ED2-952C-7FF8B3A887AD.heic" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Arthur's eyes tell the whole story. I was just in awe of the unique and stunning design which was so different than anything I had done. So I used different stamps and created a similar card.<p></p><p>The flower and solid leaf is from Garden Treasure. I used white from the Artist Watercolor set for the flowers.</p><p>The white leaves are from Leaf Canopy, one of my favorite sets. Those I painted with the white from the Metallic Watercolor set.</p><p>The sympathy sentiment from Columbine is white heat-embossed.</p><p><br /></p><p>Placement is a little tricky on the slimline card when using a Misti or other stamping platform. Embossing powder really clings to the black water color paper. The anti-static powder must be used generously. </p>pamboehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06315962710737491883noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537593315993617210.post-61159968394906999302020-10-26T06:35:00.002-07:002020-10-26T06:35:34.484-07:00Day of the Dead tag<p>My friend, Jill, found an online class that teaches how to make-up like a Catrina for Day of the Dead.</p><p>We've gathered flowers, glue guns, make-up, sponges and brushes for our party of two. He stands out because of his unique, artsy combinations of color.</p><p>My primary goal in taking his class is to get out of my comfort zone and use color combinations I haven't used before.</p><p>One place to find ideas is the monthly Alenew Color Challenge. For this card I selected the colors from the September, 2019 Altenew Color Challenge. They are fallish colors. One of the challenges is to use leaves but not green leaves. I also challenged myself to make a slimline card.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSiHH8rHdVnWDMURE79G3zlTvZiwrwnyoosvouzxLGEXecZRweBld9w0t9KSjW-KWzI1NBYgOJQs95dPaQDBDdD3fCVP92ojIlRJLPZTzSpE3QX9NLfL5tdVv56MTR2lbB1H5W2mg4sO-V/s2048/fullsizeoutput_2110.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSiHH8rHdVnWDMURE79G3zlTvZiwrwnyoosvouzxLGEXecZRweBld9w0t9KSjW-KWzI1NBYgOJQs95dPaQDBDdD3fCVP92ojIlRJLPZTzSpE3QX9NLfL5tdVv56MTR2lbB1H5W2mg4sO-V/s320/fullsizeoutput_2110.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>pamboehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06315962710737491883noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537593315993617210.post-77167011013868086972020-10-04T09:17:00.001-07:002020-10-04T10:32:14.143-07:00Altenew October Challenge<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-RKubE8D6FfXR_rhyi7cuWIps4YGa4s8Rno_oUYPMiOtOY9beM9iJ0aS6dRkGHNElIjRK1xM2li6P5mR0415pRqvcY6VNTmzWIQfFxZNiQ8cOreid9nQcA3YsPlRQ3h4BPrPjXLjhtRUk/s1200/Color-3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-RKubE8D6FfXR_rhyi7cuWIps4YGa4s8Rno_oUYPMiOtOY9beM9iJ0aS6dRkGHNElIjRK1xM2li6P5mR0415pRqvcY6VNTmzWIQfFxZNiQ8cOreid9nQcA3YsPlRQ3h4BPrPjXLjhtRUk/s320/Color-3.jpg" /></a></div>Virginia Lu has chosen this photo for the Altenew October Challenge. Since it's my favorite season, I absolutely wanted to participate in the challenge.<p></p><p>These colors are a bit more subtle than I usually select for fall and I happily take on that challenge.</p><p>So many Altenew products came out of my shelves that I expanded this to a 5 x 7 card.</p><p>This is my first Washi background. The gold lines represented the tree trunks to me.</p><p>The Leaf Mix Die Set is my new favorite. The many leaves cut easily and include so many interesting textures and designs. They are distressed with ink and a blender brush then randomly gold heat-embossed. Finally they are splattered with gold water color. (I'm not sure that last step was necessary.) The berry type branches are just cut from gold metallic paper.</p><p>The Sister and Happy Birthday sentiments are from Family Matters. </p><p>Featured Sentiments Die Set were used to cut the Happy Birthday Sentiment.</p><p>Sequins and gold thread are also from Altenew</p><p>The ribbon is from my stash.</p><p>My focus on gold intensified 5 years ago with a Go for The Gold Class taught by Sandy Allnock. It can no longer be considered a fad. For me it is a deeply ingrained addiction. If I would review the cards I've made I'm guessing gold would be considered a signature of my style.</p><p><br /></p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH2kTUxeNtlXenObnxN9PIoUQH30iByjpegKsXpdkujKK87vOH6UEt97-v0nVuSVkdobbhoU1TGcnb0hDaaiFRu_exLg8tV187skjqqoZ6o_uFY7NLigEMK4qq1cMvN89mIX5wi1rUQY-T/s2048/IMG_3308.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH2kTUxeNtlXenObnxN9PIoUQH30iByjpegKsXpdkujKK87vOH6UEt97-v0nVuSVkdobbhoU1TGcnb0hDaaiFRu_exLg8tV187skjqqoZ6o_uFY7NLigEMK4qq1cMvN89mIX5wi1rUQY-T/s320/IMG_3308.JPG" /></a></div><br /><p></p>pamboehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06315962710737491883noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537593315993617210.post-71380662531616271572020-10-04T05:46:00.000-07:002020-10-04T05:46:17.734-07:00Altenew Leafy Thank You<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUb_tEOFlqY4dV6uQ5BtslSQXB4uPLaUnP4_ycLoFM69uzgVZZlL2tnMGNNOzI7PgT_W4DqPrNdTKy7mblMRG6c9_SsNLaX1TpKwxNzyVMXfm4caNbgvCVVT6xo-O0-S5ft1n1xz4KMmsC/s2048/IMG_3307.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUb_tEOFlqY4dV6uQ5BtslSQXB4uPLaUnP4_ycLoFM69uzgVZZlL2tnMGNNOzI7PgT_W4DqPrNdTKy7mblMRG6c9_SsNLaX1TpKwxNzyVMXfm4caNbgvCVVT6xo-O0-S5ft1n1xz4KMmsC/s320/IMG_3307.JPG" /></a></div><p></p><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><p></p><p style="text-align: center;">One can never own too many leaf stamps and dies.</p><p></p></blockquote></blockquote><p></p><p><br /></p>Some time ago I stamped and colored this card using the Retro Planines stamp. I like a challenge and I like to learn something new. This class exceeded my expectations.</p><p>The first lessons are basic shaker and spinner classes with some great tips that were new to me and very helpful.</p><p>Lesson 7 is like the final exam. It tests everything that has been learned in the first six classes. My first card is a combination shaker and spinner.</p><p>I used the following Altenew products:</p><p>Grape Leaves</p><p>Autumn Bounty </p><p>Sunburst Stencil</p><p>Golden Sunset Inks</p><p>I've never seen a combination card before. I am anxious to share it with my card group on Zoom this week.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMrqXBWAkQegLFaBjfe0RShKJ2G1j3kZM-2GPJm89g5EdMjOoLCdPCV1vg6eZTPUT15LirRBmVp3juMy6HJm8ALWJJw1L2riV2qJDT_LugesAv3nklcLyXXRSG9fAB4wGhEo29-HkUgMdz/s2048/fullsizeoutput_2082.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1638" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMrqXBWAkQegLFaBjfe0RShKJ2G1j3kZM-2GPJm89g5EdMjOoLCdPCV1vg6eZTPUT15LirRBmVp3juMy6HJm8ALWJJw1L2riV2qJDT_LugesAv3nklcLyXXRSG9fAB4wGhEo29-HkUgMdz/s320/fullsizeoutput_2082.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig4ol45msV-0sZEfXNAUROsvNW9XtTFEc9CP_maXQCwZj_HIu7w2X9tZ45i74_9rijNlsMtucybkVEuX3F2IV0UYeZB-K2dVKILczsBH2dQV0zLhCgdM_vCyWsnpLdwokTBTsKjfF5nxSR/s2048/fullsizeoutput_2083.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig4ol45msV-0sZEfXNAUROsvNW9XtTFEc9CP_maXQCwZj_HIu7w2X9tZ45i74_9rijNlsMtucybkVEuX3F2IV0UYeZB-K2dVKILczsBH2dQV0zLhCgdM_vCyWsnpLdwokTBTsKjfF5nxSR/s320/fullsizeoutput_2083.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>pamboehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06315962710737491883noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537593315993617210.post-56534177985072303472020-09-27T14:48:00.003-07:002020-09-27T18:37:43.152-07:00Cards in Motion Class<p> </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmJpZUnJ3Rpw_JX08uM2HTe0q77CYfhUsNPauU5rYKlzrCqPor6GghRMIES2xH8D4u6Tr5fqiOTNUWlkg7vFCG9EPn90OG7OAqYp_isLmGrGAxWpv56XdXxtKxoxKhBJ7lNaxBxDwP2QDc/w400-h400/fullsizeoutput_207a.jpeg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="400" /></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Autumn Blessings<br />Spinner</td></tr></tbody></table><p><br /></p><p>I enjoyed Ashley Tucker's Cards in Motion Class. She explains the techniques and steps very well. I cannot imagine how many hours she spent putting this class together. It's extremely well organized.</p><p>People young and old are fascinated with interactive cards. This one spins but in a new way....at least new to me. The ring of leaves (With Gratitude) spins around while the pumpkin image from Autumn Bounty stays stable.</p><p>The pumpkin image is colored with alcohol markers. The leaves are water colored and heat embossed in gold. There are also tiny dots of gold Stickles on the leaves that give a great sparkle that the camera doesn't pick up.</p><p>I want to try a winter card with this technique.</p><p><br /></p>pamboehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06315962710737491883noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537593315993617210.post-31617397320156613832020-09-20T11:06:00.000-07:002020-09-20T11:06:14.803-07:00Fall Umbrella?<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJRBJivVXhjXX1C6cKtgiF-IqyEsLcUVoSnS1L9odefZgqQ0CQvwwhEsD0zXHh5u17N_o4PYQWJSTRueo1VPAn-X0VKhCMNAwfbrJF_b8TRdYMZvKDNEWADIroEq6OzvLiumb7xJCTWYax/s2048/IMG_3277.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJRBJivVXhjXX1C6cKtgiF-IqyEsLcUVoSnS1L9odefZgqQ0CQvwwhEsD0zXHh5u17N_o4PYQWJSTRueo1VPAn-X0VKhCMNAwfbrJF_b8TRdYMZvKDNEWADIroEq6OzvLiumb7xJCTWYax/s320/IMG_3277.JPG" /></a></div><br /> An umbrella and rain drops in a fall collage? why?<p></p><p>And why did I not see the umbrella before I purchased this stamp?</p><p>Umbrellas are for Spring!</p><p>Is it just me?</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>I purchased the stamp because it was for slimline cards and because I love all things fall. </p><p>When it arrived and I began to select alcohol markers I see the umbrella! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've started to make a Magic Iris card a couple times now but each time found I needed yet another Add-On. Now the entire collection is mine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Lady Bug card by Nicole Spohr started the whole thing. Next week I am going to do a zoom class with three friends so they can make the Lady Bug card too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The adorable mice studying the stars was the next card I made. Inspired by ____________________.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There was no name associated with the kitty fortune teller Magic Iris card that I saw on Pinterest. But the card HAD to be made for my granddaughter. It was the 4th time I made the iris "flexcatheter"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
mechanical piece. It went together in a snap.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now, the camera add-on is really cool. The Magic Iris mechanism is used right in the circle.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrrgO0vdHmb2lg6rPttX-V4UEOtMsqjgOxGZCi1oApi0oXqNmnUwM_TlkYIv-cruQxhhfMHhpvUeGzmp34pwZAlBkpgvuL7fN6XxfKj4x-xWJAi575IQTx8hVlRykw6XhwMZejXH3ttOXa/s2048/fullsizeoutput_2069.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1638" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrrgO0vdHmb2lg6rPttX-V4UEOtMsqjgOxGZCi1oApi0oXqNmnUwM_TlkYIv-cruQxhhfMHhpvUeGzmp34pwZAlBkpgvuL7fN6XxfKj4x-xWJAi575IQTx8hVlRykw6XhwMZejXH3ttOXa/s320/fullsizeoutput_2069.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSa0uXahVZHcWINWQWML1biIsw-UPSvUzwFYGpRCsSzmLbAlR8AgeetPeUW4340cosQsLujHJJ8-xRmY9uSvYuOIGvYjAZpJCwPj7qlyB8m2fgn1gnXeP0EcSv3NB6C23CVIOKhh8D56J2/s2048/fullsizeoutput_206a.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1638" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSa0uXahVZHcWINWQWML1biIsw-UPSvUzwFYGpRCsSzmLbAlR8AgeetPeUW4340cosQsLujHJJ8-xRmY9uSvYuOIGvYjAZpJCwPj7qlyB8m2fgn1gnXeP0EcSv3NB6C23CVIOKhh8D56J2/s320/fullsizeoutput_206a.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Eventually I'll design some Christmas tags using these Magic Iris pieces. And now there is a Magic Iris Snow Globe!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My nephew will be 11. Soon making cards for him will be a real challenge. Everyone always comments about how hard man cards are. I think tween boy cards are equally difficult.<br />
<br />
For this year a robot shaker works just fine.<br />
<br />
Inspired by Megan Quinn. <br />
I used black glossy embossing paste with a brick stencil made by my friend, Jan.<br />
The stamps are from Lawn Fawn Charge me Up and Party Time.<br />

<br />
I've decided my Halloween style should be called Pretty Scary. I want it to be creepy but I also want some color and glitz thus pretty but scary.<br />
<br />
My most fun challenge every Halloween is to make a "card" for our friends who were married on Halloween. This year I saw Emma Williams' make called "bone collector". It set me off on a design that would work for the Halloween Anniversary. Thank you, Emma.<br />
<br />
I painted the etc. tag with a lot of Tim Holtz Products. I started with black paint then white and speckled egg then frayed burlap. I splattered black and speckled egg. Then I used Grit Paste. The tag was pretty but not Halloween enough so I used Black Soot Stain. Then Crackle Paste and Crackle Paste again. I never did achieve the deep crackles I wanted. But the color worked.<br />
<br />
The Feathered Friends are die cut from Yuppo paper I colored with alcohol inks.<br />
<br />
Other products include:<br />
Funky Wreaths<br />
Frightful Things<br />
Quote Chips<br />
Ideology vials, skulls and bones<br />

Gemma Barraclough posted the Medium Ect.Tag that inspired this tag.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I worked on this tag while watching Tim Holtz' Halloween release on Saturday.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
This is a close-up of the brick wall. I threw a whole lot of Tim Holtz at it. It's base is gray cardstock.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I did a letter press technique with black ink in the embossing folder. Grit Paste and Brushed Pewter Mica Spray were the final products.</div>

Stitching Challenge</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There is so much bling on this you need sunglasses!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I continue my obsession with Statement Flowers. I've now done it in so many medias . . . now including stitching.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpsfB4eoEYUyLuVm6LqPuM06y_gS3DAw-f3QyaBCNxchh2aD8vIPfB8iI5jFaSYnC023xM4B-ZZw7XKCSE06j1RThxLdVu6sIaG0hZxViCe9sBiBTwU2Lyuxkf40nN67-LhhscwYTaWpgV/s1600/fullsizeoutput_2048.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpsfB4eoEYUyLuVm6LqPuM06y_gS3DAw-f3QyaBCNxchh2aD8vIPfB8iI5jFaSYnC023xM4B-ZZw7XKCSE06j1RThxLdVu6sIaG0hZxViCe9sBiBTwU2Lyuxkf40nN67-LhhscwYTaWpgV/s320/fullsizeoutput_2048.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I stamped Statement Flowers onto 14 count perforated paper and colored it with alcohol markers.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I then used those colors to guide my stitching.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I found two strands of 6 strand DMC Floss worked best.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Next time I would use a smaller needle. This one required a little too much tugging and weakened the perforated paper where there was lots of stitching.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The need was easy to thread so it's a trade off.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
